Date: 29th March 2007
The Kruger National Park’s (KNP) Executive Director Dr Bandile Mkhize recently received two national PMR Awards on behalf of South Africa’s largest national park at a business breakfast in Johannesburg on Friday March 23, 2007.
The Kruger National Park’s (KNP) Executive Director Dr Bandile Mkhize recently received two national PMR Awards on behalf of South Africa’s largest national park at a business breakfast in Johannesburg on Friday March 23, 2007.
“We are very proud of this achievement because these awards recognise the role played by the KNP in industry and society from not just a provincial scale but also a national scale,” Dr Mkhize said shortly after he received the awards.
The highest profile award was the KNP’s first overall prize in the CSR Industry Award “Highest Rated in Industry: National Parks and Game Reserves”. The award is cited with the following: Diamond Status in the Black Economic Empowerment and Environmental Care category, Gold Status in the category for promoting ASGISA, fighting poverty and provision of quality services and Silver Status in job creation, training, educational and skills development, fighting HIV/Aids, second economy interventions, employment equity and commitment to communities.
Dr Mkhize also accepted a second award, a joint second place in the CSR Category Award “Highest Rated in South Africa: Environmental Care”. This is the first time that the KNP has received national PMR awards.
These awards follow closely on the heels of the KNP receiving first place Diamond Status Awards for “Executive Lifestyle: Best National Parks and game reserves in the province” in both Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces.
Previously, the KNP received provincial PMR Awards in 2005 (two awards), 2004 (two awards) and 2002 (one award).
