I'm writing this sitting in number 8 cabin at Highlands Mountain Retreat. It's very cold!

We arrived yesterday and had a lovely braai in the chilling wind. With all the fresh air and high altitude we were in bed by 9pm! We awoke at 2am and decided that it was the best time to go look at the stars. They really are spectacular at this altitude, and the wind meant there were no clouds. So we put on 3 layers of clothing, beanies, scarves, gloves and a fleece blanket each and went outside! We were on our balcony for about 20 minutes just enjoying the absolute spleandour of the skies!

We then went back to bed and slept in til after 8am! What a great way to start of my birthday weekend! More to follow shortly.

But I just wanted to brag a bit about being in a National Park this weekend
