Hi All,

I have booked myself in at Leokwe Rest Camp for a week at the end of May. The plan is that I am looking for a quiet place to study for an exam that I am writing on the 1st of June.

I was basically looking for somewhere with the following characteristics:

Quiet
Aircon
Nice scenery and wildlife to help relax when I am not studying
Self-catering

For people that have stayed here before, can you please advise whether this camp will serve my needs and if so, which units would best suite this purpose?

Hi Octavian and Welcome!

I stayed at Leokwe in April 2012 and found it to be very peaceful indeed. I had (I think) chalet #12, which was very private.

Good luck with your exams and enjoy your stay at Leokwe!

How does someone go about requesting a specific room? Can you only do it on arrival, or can I phone them now to do it?

Hello Octavian :D
What everybody said. All the units at Leokwe are absolutely gorgeous, they all have aircon, are quiet, with beautiful surroundings and all the units are self catering.
You will also have a nice big dining room table to study at with a view onto the patio and beyond.
To take a break you might take a stroll for a dip in the beautiful blue rock pool, as Bert mentioned, or take a short drive to the treetop walk, or to the decks at the confluence for a brisk walk,
or even to the conference centre and a quick visit to the museum. Hope you have enough time to study
If it was me I wouldn't have time to open a book

They have everything including a microwave - maybe you should just get some firewood on your way to Mapungubwe if you would like to braai. I always take a few extra utensils with like a can opener, a knife and braai utensils even though they have it in the units. (I am just used to mine).
Also take note of the fact that it it is very cold at night this time of the year. :)
