I must say you are really teasing us by showing a wonderful view of a beautiful beach and nice blue sky but.....much better than viewing the wall

Well we're very excited to see what we can find in Addo tomorrow. We still don't have a firm planned arrival time, but my guess is we'll be getting there sometime around 10am SA time, and I'll try to get the webcam running pretty much as soon as we're in the park

I'm really liking this idea of donations for sightings . I've been very fortunate on previous visits in that there are very few of the larger animals in the park that I haven't yet seen... but my kids are dying to see lion, so my donations for sightings list is as follows:
[*]Lion - R100
[*]Leopard R500
[*]Rh*** R300
[*]Civet R200
[*]Caracal R100

I'll pay for each one as well

Time to get packing and check the normal camera equipment... hope you all enjoy tomorrow whatever happens in terms of the technology.

Oh and one last thing - RonnieL suggested saving the images, and I've managed to tweak the webcam application so that it does just that... so maybe we can merge it into a video slideshow or something at a later date.

PJL, not only are you generous in terms of setting up that mobile cam
and paying for it - your pledges don't come cheap either.

I thought of leopard as well, but have never heard anybody reporting a sighting
of it, so I thought the mammal list for Addo was 'bogus'

I'm with you on the the pledge for a leopard - 500 Rand it is.

Can't wait to get started! But I think it would be good if mites saved camshots
and posted them in here as well, even if you'll do a slide otherwise. Need to
convey some action (hopefully) inbetween.

The Addo leopard is extremely elusive. I read up on some threads a while back, and although the greater Addo area (the main game area where we'll be entering is just part of the whole national park) has quite a few, apparently there is only thought to be one in the main game area. They can have large territories, so a single leopard in that area wouldn't be classed as uncommon, but unfortunately it really decreases our chances of seeing one. I think one was caught on some camera traps a year or 2 back... perhaps it's still around.

I seriously hope, you'll find that elusive critter!
