I am still nervous at posting. My usual dutch courage time is after 9 pm. A couple of glasses of wine do help.... (I started this three times today and bailed out! BUT take the bull by the horns and swallow hard.

Just read through this thread..... And yes, I am Ecojunkie and I am an addict....

But like Arks I find some areas that simply do not attract me - so don't bother with them - but then I dabble sometimes and find a thread like this and want to respond, so obviously miss things too!
However I often enjoy the way some topics wander 'off-thread' for a while. The downside may be some confusion for newbies or non-forumites.

I enjoy learning from the quizzes, even though I don't often take part (not very good at setting questions when it is revolving and don't want to get trapped!). Love reading about others experiences in the parks, and being on my own enjoy sharing my experiences with others who will appreciate them.

And where else can I enjoy such good social contact with no fear of second-hand smoke...... (sorry guys - could not resist the dig!...)

I feel welcomed, appreciated, and part of a big family.

Good post, EJ!

Weighing up the pro's and con's of "wandering off", I think the former wins, and the others will survive and be tickled! :P

I think most of us start off that way Jackie, you really aren't alone. In fact I still feel that way sometimes.

But there is no right or wrong post and everyone's opinion is valid. It's also great if we can get different perspectives on issues too.

So take a deep breathe, have a look around and see if there's something you feel strongly about, have a burning desire to know, or have a tale you wish to share. And post.

Also have a look in the Meet & Greets section and see if there are any meets being planned near you - pop along and meet up with some like minded people. They aren't as scary as they seem (well most of them any ways).

:? :?

I'm not going to add comments to the above quote, Jackie Czeredrecki, but for what it's worth: Sara is a person you can rely on. Usually. :P  Or so I'm told... 8)

That makes me feel less intimidated, thank you for this excellent advice. I have really felt a warm welcome from everyone and I will remember to submit a trip report after MZNP at the beginning of May as it is not visited so often.
Thank you all!

what i get out of the forum are memories, as a young man i used to call at the buying dept at skukuza, every 6 weeks to take their order for the canned fruit and veg for the company i worked for. i went in at numbi and out at croc, so i saw many a sight, that was long ago between 1984- 1987, . but now i can relay to my residents at the care home, your tales, and as i have said , the old folk look forward to me reading the days happenings. thanks to you all, your a great bunch of folk--mike :D

No BB you are not alone in the wilderness. Smoking or rather non-smoking is a passion of mine. Hate the smell, hate the cigarette buts left all over the place and hate the yucky ashtrays
