Junior Honorary Rangers Training in Skukuza

Local young conservationists got the chance to go “behind the scenes” in Skukuza, Kruger National Park, as part of their training as Junior Honorary Rangers (JHR). Judith, who is responsible for science support and data management in Kruger, recently took the long trip to Alaska to join a group of specialist software engineers and programme developers from NCEAS (National Centre for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis).

Prominent Plant Conservationsit Visits Skukuza

Prominent horticulturalist, author and indigenous plant expert, Geoff Nichols, was on hand in Skukuza to help various SANParks staff with general botanical issues. Based in Durban, KZN, Geoff is an expert consultant on various plant related topics ranging from vegetation assessment to site rehabilitation, with an indigenous nursery in Westville, KZN called Fig Tree Indigenous Nursery.
