Facilities for disabled people
Accommodation units and conference facilities cater for people in wheelchairs. Nature trail in the camp is adapted for the blind

Bateleur Restcamp:

The camp makes a great team building facility and is situated on the bank of the Mashokwe Spruit about 40km south west of the Shingwedzi Rest camp.

Letaba Restcamp:

The camp is situated on the southern bank of the Letaba river only 50km from Phalaborwa gate. The area is well know for its large apple-leaf, umbrella thorn and mopani trees.

The Letaba Auditorium has the following configuration and equipment available:

The camp is situated on a hill by the name of Mangwanduna (zebra stallion).

Where are we?

• Approximately 6 hours drive from Johannesburg or Pretoria on the N1 through the mountain ranges in the Limpopo Province;
• 76 kms from Pund Maria Gate

• To access Shingwedzi Camp use the Punda Maria Gate via Giyani or Phalaborwa Gate in Phalaborwa Town.

Entrance into the Kruger National Parks

All South African and SADC Nationals have the option of paying a DAILY CONSEVATION FEE or of purchasing a WILD CARD.

Traveling time from Pretoria and Johannesburg plus minus 6 hours

International delegates can fly to the new Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. Airport transfers can be arranged.

Accommodation

Accommodation units are equipped with all the necessary utensils to allow for self-catering for those who prefer to do their own meals at their own pace. Each unit has a braai stand

Rentmeester Guest House

This guesthouse is donated by Rentmeester. It has three bedrooms, two with queen beds and have bathroom, the other bed bedroom has a double bed and have bathroom en suit, and a sleeper couch. A stove with oven is available, microwave oven, a two-door refrigerator and a deep freezer. Each room has its own air conditioning unit.

FAMILY COTTAGE

This Family Cottages has two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and air conditioning units. This cottage is designed to sleep four persons.

Bungalows

There are 34 of these chalets that are ideal for two persons, containing two single beds in each, ten of them are self-catering with a kitchenette and have a single air conditioning unit strong enough to service the entire open-plan chalet. There are also 27 chalets that are ideal for five people containing three beds on ground and two on loft, they are also self catering with a kitchenette that has a two plate stove and a mini fridge.

Caravan/Tents

The camp is equipped with 65 camp sites with power points and a braai stand. These sites are serviced with ablution block and communal kitchens.

Ideally suited for serious professional conferencing, no disturbances of night clubs, traffic noise etc.

Catering served El fresco in picnic spot behind the Conference Hall overlooking the dam. This facility can be used at any time of day and evening depending on the weather.The Catering manager will gladly discuss your requirements.
Bar facilities are also available. Depending on the guests’ needs, a cash bar can be set up. An open bar can also be set up and charged upon consumption.

Bush Braai
“Feast amongst the Beasts”

For a taste of the real bush, a traditional Braai can be arranged and served in the wild under African stars. This is a combination of Game Viewing with a professional Game Guide and ultimately having a braai served by well trained caterers.

Cafeteria

Take-away foods and beverages are served for those who do not have time for a formal meal in the restaurant. They can be enjoyed on a covered stoep or on the verandah overlooking Shingwedzi River.

Entertainment

Traditional Dance groups from the neighboring communities provide some breathtaking Shangaan and Venda cultural songs and dance. These can be arranged upon request. A fee is payable to the group to compensate for their travel and other expenses. This fee is determined by the group.

• A swimming pool is available to resident guests of the Rest Camp;
• Bird lovers can wonder around the camp for a variety of birds spotted in and around the camp.

Game Drives

Game Drives are available for resident guests of the Rest Camp. A professional Game Guide is on hand to take guests on tour of the untamed bush of the Kruger National Park. A 20 seater can be reserved. Bookings can be made in advance through the Central Reservations.
Shingwedzi has 1 x 23 seater available. Additional vehicles must be sub contracted on an ad hoc basis.

Day Walks

Under the watchful eyes of two well trained and armed Field Guides 8 trailists are taken into the bush for a 3 to 4 hour interpretive excursion. Topics such as Animal behavior, Geology, Botany, Birds, Weather and Insects are explained.
Remember to bring along your Binoculars, comfortable walking shoes, camera and sun hat,
It is advisable to wear natural or neutral coloured clothing and only persons above 12 years old may engage in this wonderful wildlife experience.

Breakfast Walk includes snack breakfast R220 per person
Afternoon Walk (only water supplied) R175 per person

Skukuza Restcamp:

This is the largest rest camp in the park. The rest camp is situated in the southern part of the park on the bank of the Sabie river.
