All facilities open at Tsitsikamma National Park

The rest camp in Natures Valley, camping sites in Storms River and the Otter Trail at Tsitsikamma National Park are once again open for visitors as of Monday, 17 November 2008.
Tsitsikamma's Otter Trail closed until Sunday

Due to heavy rainfall received in the Tsitsikamma National Park area over the last two days, management has decided to close the Otter Trail with immediate effect.
Temporary closure of day one of Tsitsikamma's Otter Trail

The first day of the Otter Trail at the Tsitsikamma National Park has been temporary closed due to high seas and adverse weather conditions.
Tsitsikamma's suspension bridge will re-open in May 2009

The boardwalk to the very popular suspension bridge at the Tsitsikamma National Park was damaged by a fire in December 2007 and consequently the hiking trail that includes the bridge, had to be closed.

Boating Activites at Tsitsikamma Suspended

Please be advised that Tsitsikamma's boat, the Spirit of Tsitsikamma, has been damaged due to bad weather conditions. Boating acivities at Storm's River have been suspended until a new boat can be sourced. Tsitsikamma apologises for any inconvenience caused. The park hopes to hire a boat for the peak December season.
Update: Tsitsikamma Flood Damage

The mop up teams in Tsitsikamma National Park are working hard to repair damage caused by the recent flood. At present, Nature's Valley Rest Camp will remain closed until the 22 December 2007.

Closure of Facilities at Tsitsikamma NP

Please note that due to a fire at Tsitsikamma National Park, the trail to the suspension bridge is closed for an indefinite period. There will also be no boat rides until further notice and the Dolphin Trail is also closed. More information will be posted as it is available.

Upgrading Of N2 Highway Through Plaatbos Nature Reserve (“plaatbos Tunnel” The road contract for the upgrading of the N2 highway worth R 316 million, over a 33 month period commenced on 15 January 2007. In terms of the contract agreement, the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry issued a permit for the removal of trees from the road reserve, along the 4km stretch through the Plaatbos Reserve and at the new entrance to the Total Petroport.
